How to Create a Documents in Microsoft Word 2007 – Microsoft Word 2007 gives you two methods to create new documents. The first is, to create a new document starting with a blank page and Second is, use a template to open a blank preformatted documents.

To Create a documents follow this steps on MS-Word 2007 Application.

  1. Click Office Button and then select New option.
  2. Under Available Templates, Select blank documents.
  3. In the right pane, click Create button.
  4. A blank file appears ready to start storing data in it.

For Saving a documents follow this steps on MS-Word 2007 Application.

The first time you save a file, you need to specify three items.

  • The drive and folder to store your file.
  • The name of your file.
  • The format to save your file.
  1. Click the Office Button.
  2. Then click Save As. Or, Alternatively, choose the Save button on the Quick Access Toolbar.
  3. When you save a document for the first time, Word 2007 displays the Save As dialog box, so that, you can type a name for the document.
  4. Click Save in: drop-down, to specify a drive and folder to save your file.
  5. Click in the File name: text box and type a name for your file.
  6. Click Save button.

Notes: Opening a file automatically creates in the current directory a temparary file, the name of which begins with a tilde (-). When the document is correctly closed the temparary file is deleted.

The shortcut key to save a Microsoft Word 2007 document is Ctrl+S.

The Save As dialog box appears only when your are saving file document for the first time. Each additional save command will save the most recent changes to the file you have already named. The Save As dialog box will not reappear unless you choose Save As.
